About us
We are a familie of four, Gunnhild the mother, Magnus Arne the father and our two children Linda and Robert, who are 18 and 16 year.
I have in all my adult life wanted a dog, but my husband Magnus Arne did not agree. I could not blame him for this, as he was bitten by a big breed earlier in his life.
In 1999 I asked him if we could buy a Shetland Sheepdog, and regarding to photos and information I found at the internet he agreed in having a try. A few months later we travelled to Bjoneroa in Norway and bought our first sheltie, “Tinka”
“Tinka” stole his heart, and in just a very short time she slept in his bed. No more need to be said about that!
In September 2002 a sheltie dog came into our lifes. We went to Nøtterøy, south in Norway, and bought “Bagera”.
“Tinka and “Bagera” fell in love, and from their puppies born in April 2006, we kept the bitch, “Mira”. Then one sheltie lead to three in a very short time!
We live in Vartal in Ørsta local council, the closest town is Ålesund, and the county is Møre and Romsdal.
In the end of 2005 I took over to be the representative for our county, and we have had different activities for the members in the county this year.
We are travelling to different dog shows in Norway. It is nice to meet old and new sheltie friends at this trips.
We decided to apply for the prefix “Havly” this year, a name which has been ready for a long time. We did not send an alternative name, so hopefully the one will be accepted.
The name of our land is named “Havly” which translated to English means that we are in the cover for the ocean. The name could therefore be nothing else.
